Description

I needed a Flickr-like annotated image viewer for this website. I found Fotonotes™, so I sat down and made this nice plugin.

From the original Fotonotes™ library I bundled with the plugin only the client-side annotations script along with its stylesheet. I also removed from the original source the code and styles that deal with client-side annotations editing. There may be some left-overs, feel free to do the cleanup yourself and contribut…

It took me about three days to build this simple and nice bedroom cabinet we use to keep documents and meds in. The lowest drawer is used for my wife's many boots :)

I built it to match two existing MDF-made small cabinets. However, this cabinet is made of pine. The cabinet's dimension are approximately 120x60x40 centimeters.

	* Fact: I am a new D&D player.

	* Problem: Having to roll many kinds of dice, which get lost and end up it other player's hands.

	* Solution: Build an n-sided dice.

	* Method: Take two 5×7 led displays, connect them to an ATmega168, toss in a Freescale's 3-axis MMA7260QT accelerometer and program some code.

This shelves system is inspired by a similar IKEA design. This one, not like the IKEA one, is made of soft maple. It took me about six months to finish this one up, as this was my first-ever woodworking work.

These shelves are designed so they can be mounted under a very large doorpost which stands between our living-room and bedroom. These shelves are doing this job perfectly as can be seen in the pictures. Another bonus is that our cats can pass freely under them.

I converted a low-grade rotary tool and a flexshaft to a mini tabletop saw, which enables me to cut metal, plastic and about anything that can be cut with a rotary tool accessory quite straight and nice. i still need to add fences and stuff, but it serves as a nice proof of concept.

I got a friend who works for small start-up in a rented office. His problem is that they have only a single remote control to operate the parking lot gate. They needed a device that will allow them to open the gate by using the cell phone.

I built a device that connects to a phone line and to a standard remote control. The device is actually a “docking station” for the remote control. When a ring is detected the device will “press” the gate-open button on the remote control.

This is how it'…

During geekcon08, Dror Gil asked for help building a UHF power amplifier so he could transmit old-time Israeli TV-shows from his DVD to a portable TV. I suggested not using a power amplifier at all, but just connect an antenna to the DVD RF output jack, which was rated at about 10mW output power.

The first attempt was made by connecting a single wire radiator to the RF jack:
