The lowest drawer is used for my wife's many boots :) I built it to match two existing MDF-made small cabinets. However, this cabinet is made of pine. This one, not like the IKEA one, is made of soft maple. It took me about six months to finish this one up, as this was my first-ever woodworking work. These shelves are designed so they can be mounted under a very large doorpost which stands between our living-room and bedroom.
